Kitmaster Models for Display

Post by mattbacon »

I thought rather than bury it in the "Kits and Builders" thread, I'd post up a separate listing for the Kitmasters that we have ready or under way.

Beyer Garratt 2-6-0-0-6-2 MattB (built)
SNCF 241.P Mountain MattB (built)
Diesel Shunter Splash (built)
J.94 Tank MattB (built)
Deltic Diesel Splash
Italian Tank Splash (built awaiting attention)
Baureihe 23 MattB (unbuilt) Splash
Coronation Class MattB (unbuilt)
0-4-0 Saddle tank "Pug" MattB (unbuilt)
New York Central Hudson MattB (built awaiting attention)

That's not including the various Evening Stars, Schools Class, Moguls, Battle of Britain Class and Prairie Tanks that are coming in under the Airfix banner as well.

Out of interest, that leaves the "Early American General", the "Stirling 8ft Single", the "Swiss Crocodile" and the "City of Truro" of the OO scale locos. I have a feeling someone has offered a City of Truro, in Airfix form.

Feel free to chime in with any I've missed!

All the best,
NM.

Thanks for doing that list Matt, I was starting to lose track to be honest but now I can feed these in to the Kits and Builders thread. I have a started City of Truro I can crack on with if no one else has already pledged it - especially as I have happy memories of being pulled by the real one on the Bodmin and Wenford Railways many years ago whilst on holiday in Cornwall.

Cheers
Al.

EDIT: found some old prints in an album - that was how long ago it was!

I'm building the Kitmaster Class 08 0-6-0 Shunter as a Dutch class 600 and I have completed the Airfix class 04 Shunter (I understand the class 04 Shunter was an Airfix kit and not designed by Kitmaster )

Has anyone already built the Deltic that we can use?

I would rather spend time on the big Kitmaster German loco or should the Deltic have a priority over the German engine as it's more in line with the display?

That just leaves the Stirling Single and Swiss Crocodile...

I have the Stirling Single. It was pre built and oddly painted, but looks complete. I picked up a pre-built Harrow and GWR Prairie Tank from Ebay. The latter is in decent order. Harrow is just in plastic finish.

Any good?

Chuck

Sure! Do you fancy a mild repaint on the Stirling?

No problem. I'll soon clean it up. I have some spare track for a small base, too.

I think I've spotted another that we've missed on Ebay - the Rebuilt "Royal Scot" in TT3 gauge - I've put a bid in so fingers crossed (if it goes towards crazy money though I'll have to abandon it)

...you're gonna have to find a length of TT3 track to stand it on!

Which could be a challenge :ha: although I expect it'll rise out of my price range soon enough.

Al has asked me to leave the roof and one side off one of my coaches to better show the Peco interior in a static display .... it would have been better to planned this a ways back as I always hide the damages behind the coach walls, but I think I can make one presentable.
