SMW - volunteers required

Post by ShaunW »

The IPMS have emailed me with a volunteer request for the Saturday of SMW. So, out of those CBK SIG Members who are going to be in attendance, I need two of you to provide assistance on the Kit Swap from 11.30am until 12.30pm.

Don't all rush at once :ha:

Seriously, I did this last year with Iain (esjnotgrass) and it was quite fun in its own way!

Hi James, that's very kind of you, but the email stipulates the Saturday only.

Providing that it doesn't clash with the volunteer duties assigned to the CC SIG I'm happy enough to do a stint (still haven't heard anything from the IPMS regarding SMW - which is a little worrying).

I'll do it... I've done the "reckoning" on Sunday a couple of times, so it'd be good to plunge into the thick of the action!

bestest,

Sorry, usually we've had two people volunteering each day. Make it Saturday then.

Cheers guys, that's three able volunteers from which I'll be able to choose two  We'll finalise it at the show then - so don't run off and hide from me :ha:

I've double checked the email James and it definitely only specifies the Saturday.

Tom - I've just received two parking permits today for the set up.

Tom, FWIW, I'd be checking with them rather than waiting, something doesn't sound right ....

My social secretary has confirmed that I'm allowed to visit SMW this year, so hope to see you all at the stall. If anyone needs a break, happy to do a stint behind the table - but happy to be told to butt out given my lack of previous participation.

regards,

Martin

Oh no Martin my dear fellow, quite the reverse!

You will do a stint given your lack of previous participation :ha: ;-)

Great stuff! See you there on Saturday morning. It'll be an early start but, having got the last room at the International Hotel at an exorbitant price, I won't have to rush away!

I look forward to meeting you Martin. All being well, we'll (yes, I'll have Mrs W in tow, who is now an IPMS member you know  ) be arriving early doors as well.

It's mutual, dear chap!

6AM start from Fareham on Saturday morning <groan>. Hope the weather's favourable.

Congrats on getting the wife interested in the hobby. Mine says it'll be a cold day in hell before she accompanies me to such a gathering without a) proper childcare facilities, and b) major retail outlets in the near vicinity.

regards,

Martin
