Where we are at - the countdown to SMW

Post by ShaunW »

This thread is intended to give an overview of the list of builders and where they are at. I want this to be "at a glance" and don't want it running into several pages of comments/chat as that will defeat the object. I have therefore locked the thread - check your individual builds and if I have made any errors then please advise me by PM. I will keep an eye on things and will update your list as and when you finish any builds. If there are any other amendments/comments etc, again please advise me by PM. I will amend the date at the start of each week up to the show so that you can see, hopefully, exactly where we are at. Ever the diplomat, I have done the list in alphabetical order.

This seems like the most sensible place to report the safe arrival of John and Paul's parcels from the US, so they can now be counted "in hand"

Yes, that's fine Matt, I'll unlock this now that we are nearly there. I can also report safe receipt of Chuck E's builds.

I think also that it might be prudent now during this last week for each builder to use this thread to indicate, by editing their entry in the list, anything that they think will not be ready in time, so that we can have a proper overview of what is likely to be there.

Status update - Telegraph Pole and Platforms now finished.
You can remove the Schools class and the Prairie locos from my list as Chuck is providing these and they are much better than mine. You could add an Airfix Platform Canopy as I have just bought it Buy It Now from eBay and just hope it turns up by Friday - I can throw it together in a few minutes (like most of my models :ha: ) so no worries there.

Cheers

The Hudson and Baureihe 23 are finished. The Crocodile is all painted and awaits gentle weathering, and the decals for lining the Duchess have arrived. That'll be a job for tomorrow!

The 'T' type coach and the E-boat conversion are finished now - Photobucket is under maintenance so I can't show any photos right now. You'll just have to wait till the weekend ;-)

Have a wonderful time at Telford, Chaps. Looking forward to seeing all the wonderful old classics that you find hiding under tables.

 Looks like a great display again. I bet that there is a lot of interest, as usual.
So many models, so little time.

or rather car loaded, then unpacked and then reloaded - this time with the layout board on the bottom as it won't fit through the narrower upper boot orifice if I put all the kit and table gubbins boxes in first

Arrived and waiting in the carpark, the IPMS are being very sensible and sticking to their time schedule so no admittance for clubs and SIG's till 3pm.
