Telford 2013

Post by TomW »

Well the big one is aready rushing its way round the calender towards us and there are only 5 months left to build  .

As we are getting a little thin on the ground in regards to numbers this year due to events beyond everyones control I am proposing that we keep this years display relatively unstructured in regards to themes. I am in the process of building a few CC aircraft to fill out my own personal collection (Blenheim, Mosquito and Whitley) and will be putting them all on display again this year but I'd like to really fill our table allocation this year and I can't do it alone.

Therefore I'm asking for any builds that you all want to display to be contributed, no major theme other than Coastal Command operated and marked, lets keep it simple but a feast for the eyes.

Regards

Tom

What have you got from us already ?
Should have my Liberator, Whitley, Beaufighters, I don't remember exactly.

I have the Met Gladiator and Fortress I that should have been done last year that I can finish.
I've also got my Hampden TB.I from the GB that I could send.
Not sure I have anything else Coastal at the moment ....
John Ratzenberger :???:
It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

Tom,

I've got nothing Cc on the go - or planned - at the mo', but if you wish to use my Matchbox Welly, Hase Beau TF. X and Airfix Mossie, then let me know and I'll get them to you somehow. They're pretty "Vanilla", though . . .

Martin

Thanks for the replies guys

John, all of the previous years contributions are still with Julian and I hope he'll be able to make the show this year and bring them all along, I'd love to see the Met Gladiator to go with my Met Spitfires and Hurricane, the Fortress would be a stunning addition as well but I know you're very busy so don't feel pressured to get them both finished, either or would be great.

Martin, It would be great to have your stunning builds on the display so yes please to all of them, we'll arrange how to get them to the show nearer the time

Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control I'm not going to be able to make it to Telford this year

If we could arrange a mutually convenient meeting place I'd be happy to let you have all John's CC models and as many of mine as you think you may need.

I'm building a Royal Naval Barracuda with its wings folded is that any use to you?

The markings are 829 squadron but they could be changed.

Yes please Alan :-D, the following squadrons were all attached to Coastal for various periods: 827, 822, 810 and 703 though I'd be happy enough if it was left as originally marked.

As a cunning plan I have posted an open invitation to all forum members in the Small Talk section to bring and display their CC models at the show, I'm hoping it may even boost our membership numbers.

A good idea Tom. If I can I'll get the Lodela Revell 1/32 Beaufighter TFX finished for Telford - it may not look great but it will take up a good part of the table - and I'll probably go wheels up with 1/48 and 1/72 co-conspirators behind it for a bit of forced perspective?! I'd better start printing the various scale prop-blurs now! Anyone got a 1/32 WWII pilot going spare please?

Cheers

Beany old chap.

Your pilots are now heading in a Northerly direction and with a good wind behind them they should land on your bench in the next day or two.

Both pilots have been sat in my spares tin since 1983 so I expect they will enjoy the change of scenery and a chance to finally get into a cockpit.

Good luck on your mission.

Tom,

My offer of a Cc aircraft still stands (I did offer more, but that was when I expected to attend the show this year).

Unfortunately the boxes I have are not large enough to hold the Wimpey, but I can send either the Hase Beau TF.X or Airfix Mossie FBVI. Let me know which one you prefer and your address by PM and I will get it in the post to you.

regards,

Martin
