jssel's F6F Hellcat.***Finished***
jssel's F6F Hellcat.***Finished***
So my entry is the Academy F6F with the teeth in the front. This will slot in with the Bearcat and Tigercat done in earlier Blitz's.
Date to be determined.
I may do more than one entries this time. We shall see.

Re: jssel's F6F Hellcat.
That sounds like a good blitz subject.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.
Re: jssel's F6F Hellcat.
Here is my choice.
Box art:
You have to love the nose art.
The innards:
Still sealed in the poly bags. Notice the Grumman Smile which was criticized when the kit first came out.
Decals:
Several subjects with both tr-color and overall blue schemes included.
Looks like a keeper. Had good luck with the Academy Corsair in the last Blitz.
Start will be the probably the 7th or 8th. Working on my kitchen pass now.

Looks good for tomorrow morning around 0600 EST. Oh, this will be a straight 24 hour build and I may just have to resurrect some good British Invasion #1 music.
Like, maybe, the Hollies

Get some - up at 6am to do a blitz, that's pretty hardcore Jeff but then again is better than getting up at 6am to go to work Best of luck with this one.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Into the build now and so far it is not as smooth as the Corsair in the last Blitz. But it is not bad either. Work progresses. One thing I noticed is that the dimples that are placed to assist in drilling holes for external stores are actually on the outside of the plastic. As the -3 did not carry wing mounted rockets (he boldly states) the holes needed to be filled. But so far for one hour in, I am enjoying the build a lot.

Coming up in the third hour update. Wrestled with the fuselage cockpit alignment but it soon settled down. Also encountered a bit of a gap in the wing root area but tape and Tenex clear that issue up.
Time hack and state of play.

A brief interlude.
A better than average blitz food. Homemade Muffin, cheese and egg. With a side chaser drink.
And as promised. A trip down memory lane.
