Miguelito's Airfix Fiat G.91R ***FINISHED***

Post by mjatx »

Alright, I'm going to try to sneak in a Blitx build this Thursday night. Planning on going with an Airfix "Skill Level 1" kit, to hopefully not make it any harder on myself than necessary.

I'm planning on starting this one the Thursday night for me, but in the wee hours of the morning for the rest of the world. So, if all goes as planned, you should wake to a nearly completed model.

You can do this. It is not a difficult build.

It's a lovely looking plane, and a blitz too; what's not to like? :-D

Good luck
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Well, the kit and I are both ready. I figured I'd get the sprues out of the bag and ready to go.

Should be starting about 24 hours from now.

Looks like a good choice of kit for blitzing.

Wonderful. I remember this one from my youth.

I remember that it builds like a dream. Of course memories can be misleading. :ha:

By my calculations it will be 3am here when you start so good luck & I will check in at breakfast time if I remember.

Well, I started at 8:49pm and didn't realize until just now, that I didn't have an SD card in the camera. Fortunately, I have pictures on the camera (with times), but won't be able to look for the cable to get the pictures OFF the camera until the morning. I don't think Ms. Miguelito would appreciate me rummaging around the bedroom at midnight.

I've completed the cockpit (pilot and seat), sealed up the fuselage and gotten the wings and fiddly bits cleaned up and ready for assembly. I'm hoping to get the wings onto the fuselage tonight and maybe some paint before bed.

Pictures in the morning!

I found the SD card and got one last shot before I head off to sleep for the evening. At just before 1am, I'm about where I wanted to be. The main construction is complete, and I'll be putting a light coat of primer to let it set overnight.

That will give me a chance to clean up any seams before putting on the camo tomorrow sometime. The undercarriage is completed and ready for installation once the paint is completed.

Hope y'all had a good night's sleep and I'll update in the morning.
