Brickie's Broche-feu, **Finished**

Post by Brickie »

"Broche-feu" is Spitfire in French.

As a companion piece to my new-tool Spit in 1939 Polish markings over in the What-if GB, I'll be doing the older Mk.1 in 1940 French markings courtesy of a ruined and abandoned Smer Curtiss Hawk. (As an aside, does anyone do a decent Hawk 75 in 1/72?)

My plan is to begin the blitz a week today, next Tuesday.

Spitfires aren't that common on here usually, so it's great to see another one Brickie :-D

I can empathise with you Brickie. No fun at all.

Can you have someone lash you to your modelling chair and soldier on? Stiff upper lip and all that.

Great idea for a Spitfire build too.

And we're off!

Bugalugs is dropped off at school and won't be back until sixish thanks to my parents, so barring anyone ringing up to offer me a short-notice job interview, I'm good...

In other news, I've just found the Polish decals I lost when I was doing my What-If build. I was originally going to do *this* kit as the Whif, so I put the decals in the box.

OK, we have wings, and a seat-and-plank cockpit (photographed before any paint applied) and a pilot with a painful-looking condition.

Going together nicely, though the lower wing assembly needed a bit of persuasion to conform to the countours of the fuselage. I possibly shouldn't have attached the upper wings beforehand.

Looking good so far Brickie.

Did you remove the pilots but-plug before seating him?
