No, the butt-plug goes through a hole in the seat, so I used that to anchor him.

Lunch time...
I may have clamped the fuselage/wing joint a bit *too* firmly, unfortunately, and it's now recessed. Trying to work out whether I have time to fill and sand.

Wouldn't feel to bad as even on a good day the trailing edge seam is a bear on most kits. Some filler and a belt sander will take that down quickly.

While waiting for the filler to dry out, I've masked and attached the canopy and added the retracted wheels.
Trailing edge seam aside, assembly's going pretty well, which gives me time to think on colour scheme. I'm basing it on the D.520 version of French camo, with a light grey underside and mid grey-chestnut-dark green on top. I'm also going to need to mask and paint the rudder flash.

It's really moving along smoothly. Nice job and it's looking good. Although, the Blues Brothers would call that lunch a "wish sandwich". Put two pieces of bread together and wish for some meat.Brickie wrote:Lunch time...

Bit of Cathedral City, with Quavers added to the sandwich for texture.

Don't confuse Cathedral with Citadel (the little pots might look like cream cheese, but they don't taste the same )Brickie wrote:Bit of Cathedral City, with Quavers added to the sandwich for texture.

Right, primed and pre-shaded and I'm off for a short break - got a bit of a headache incoming and the paint and glue fumes aren't helping.

Good progress! I hope your head clears up soon
Best wishes

Looking good mate.
Maybe some fruit or juice would help with the headache.

Bad luck that's the last thing you need during a Blitz.
I hope it goes away quickly.

Re: Brickie's Broche-feu, **24 Feb**
Judicious application of some fresh air and a triptan seems to have shifted what was rapidly turning into a migraine, and here's the Spit with the French camo applied. I did it freehand, just to see how it went, and here are the results. On balance, I think the demarcation is a bit too fuzzy, and I haven't put enough grey on. But it's a what-if, and a blitz, so it'll do fine
