USAAC 109 **Finished**

Post by fredk »

I intend to use one of my Heller Messerschmitt 109E kits for this.

In the years leading up to the second European war the US Army Air Corps were trying to re-equip with the latest in Pursuit fighters. The US aero industry just could not match the demand so the Air Corps looked at foreign airplanes. Amongst the ones they bought in to trial was a special export version of the Messerschmitt 109.

This is to go with the Hawker Hurricane they also tested;

Hope to get this started over the weekend.

Been having digi camera probs.

Since the last photo, airframe built and fuselage masked so only the wings and tail surfaces could get white primer sprayed on;

that was so I could take advantage of the blue plastic of this kit.

Whilst the masking was on the aforesaid wings' surfaces got two coats of Chrome Yellow paint. Masking removed, ready for the mid-blue to go on the fuselage;

A few days of touching in paint and applying decals gets this;
