Strangely, that's not all that far from the truth! I have two Bf109s, and SIX Hispano Buchons in my stash! :???:

David.
These same markings are on the Hobby Boss 1/72 kit

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Thunderbolt progress....

Cockpit tub assembled:

The big, chunky fuselage halves:

The cockpit and tailwheel assembly installed:

I'm actually enjoying this build somewhat - the Jug goes together easily enough, with some whopping great locating pins in it to help everything go together. I've assembled the fuselage and wings, and the result is very nice! I'd certainly think about buying another!

The fuselage now has the tailplanes attached. Just a few small parts to add before permanently joining the wings.

It certainly looks the part, who says 1/48 scale needs dozens of tiny parts just to justify the scale?

A neat little feature I liked was the locating lugs/slots for the cockpit tub. These make absolutely sure that your cockpit stays in the right place before you join the fuselage halves. They're a good fit even without glue to keep the parts in place.

Sit-rep: Wings are permanently joined, but need a little filler on the on the undersides to fill in a slight gap.

It's a nice beast so far, although I noticed waaaay too late that I had missed a part out, namely the second half of the tailwheel support!

Oh well, you can only see it if you turn the kite upside down! ;-)

I think this might be the last GB I'll participate in for a while.

The simple reason being that I'm going to have to start looking for another line of work, which is slightly more important than bashing plastic.

If I can, I will join in at some point with one of the GBs I've signed up for, but it will be on a very-much reduced basis for the time being.... :???:
