Thanks for the tip-off on the white strip decals - I'll paint mine on (you're using the xtradecal sheet right?). I've never heard of pre-shading with a pencil? What effect doesi it have on the paint and do you think it showed in the final result?

I am using the Xtradecal sheet Stuart, pencil pre-shading barely shows (sometimes it has no effect on the finish) but that is the effect I want, I am against the scrapyard look when applied to airworthy aircraft.

Very nice model, I admire the skills and effort shown here. I may try this pencil shading thing too.
