I didn't even know that HB did a P-47. Very cool.
They do two. A razorback and bubble top.

Super work Toby! Colour looks spot on to me. I'll be joining this GB shortly, I'm looking forward to it.

On the fuselage on either side are recesses where the decals have to go over.
So to prevent distortion when I applied Microsol I put a couple of very small cuts in the decals hoping it would help the moulding.

Looking good Toby, the colour scheme is also slightly different and makes this model stand out from the rest, neutral Grey 42 usually goes with Olive Drab 41 in ETO colour schemes and too many like that can be boring.

In hindsight I wish I'd gone for the grey underside but I was going by the HB guidelines which in all fairness are not as good as the kit itself. A lesson learnt.

I don't know Toby, either could be correct. I googled this one and both colours have been used on pictured models and I found an image of the full-size (with added invasion stripes) and it is not at all clear from that which colour was used.

It wouldn't surprise me - some P-51s were OD over NMF as well.

That may be down to which finish the different factories completed the aircraft in- camouflage or NMF.

Spot on - I think in a lot of cases the OD was applied in the field
