Re: iggie's Thunderbolt of Lightning
And last nights progress: first coat of black brush applied
Engine given a wash of thinned black
and then glued into the cowling
this is mission control for modelling operations chez iggie
If you look really closely you can see where my paint stirrer (coffee frother minus spring bit from Ikea) has splattered the settee Mrs iggie not so impressed with that

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Re: iggie's Thunderbolt of Lightning
And a little more.....
The decal for the engine cowling had some nice darts already cut into it to help it conform to the compound curves....or so I thought
With hindsight I wish I'd painted that bit, but after copious amounts of decal softener, lots of nicks with a fresh scalpel blade and eventually some diluted pva glue, they sort of settled down..
Tonight's job will be to decal the side you can't see , then varnish, u/c and bits and bobs I hope.
And I may even get a bit done on my Flitzer

Not my best effort to my eye; I rushed a few bits and forgot others (such as the pilot to hide the sparse cockpit) but such is life! Having two identical kits in the same box means that I have learnt the pitfalls with this one and the second may be better!
Thunderbolt MkII 73 OTU
Again, an enjoyable GB with some great company and some inspiring builds; thanks for popping by folks

All black, how much more black can it be ... none. I love it! Almost gothic. Excellent build.

That is a really wicked looking T-bolt.
I can't see any flaws with it!
If you don't want the other decals from the NMF bird can I have them? (Shy bearns get nowt!)

Thanks all for the kind comments
As it happens there are enough decals left for two NMF birds, and only one lot of plastic so yes there is a spare set going! Drop me a PM with your address and I'll send a set gladly. I'm not sure which ones it'll be yet thoughOld_Tonto wrote: If you don't want the other decals from the NMF bird can I have them? (Shy bearns get nowt!)
