Re: Historical References

While researching the background of aircraft on my photo site, I ran across this fascinating account of the history and restoration of the Musee Air et Espace He 162. Of particular interest to me was that the French flew five Salamanders quasi-operationally for a few years after the war for testing and training. It appears they had the most extensive postwar He 162 flying programme, and this photo of a 162 in overall gray with French markings just begs to be modeled.

I've already picked a Horten 229 for my entry in this build and it's too late to source and start a 162 kit, but I'll do one of these soon.

Meanwhile, I have uploaded a few photos of reaction-powered German planes to my site in case anyone wants to look.

A good model is any model you can walk away from.
