OT Does a Weekender *** DNF ***
I can't wait to get started on my Eduard 1/48 Spitfire in American markings.
This cost me £7 at SMW. Wish I had bought half a dozen now that I have seen it up close.
Here is the Hyperscale review.

Box & spru shots to follow.

Re: OT Does a Weekender
No progress as yet, busy weekend but hope to get cracking tonight.
For now here are the box & sprue shots.
The detail parts look very nice.
A quick look at the instructions indicate some tricky & over engineered parts IMHO. We shall see.

Re: OT Does a Weekender
Slow progress on this one so far as life seems to be about decorating these days!
I have made a start on the cockpit though.
Once everything is done I will weather this and add a seat harness from masking tape.
Half the kit parts seem to be related to the pit so one it is installed things should speed up a bit. Hopefully.

Please tell me, though, that that's a decal for the instrument panel!
If not, kudos!

Kind of a modified Blitzbau there O-T. Go go go.

Re: OT Does a Weekender
I have to say, the IP does look pretty special!
Best wishes

Re: OT Does a Weekender
It looks a lot like the decal in the link above. Still kudos though; from the photo there was quite a lot of bold surface detail on the IP, and getting that decal to line up this well must have been a fight.DazDaMan wrote:Please tell me, though, that that's a decal for the instrument panel!

Re: OT Does a Weekender
I wondered because I couldn't quite make it out on the photos at first. But, the more I look, the more I also reckon it's a decal.
Still, it's bloody good either way!
(And here's where I shamefacedly admit that I always forget to put IP decals on!! )

Re: OT Does a Weekender
It is indeed the decal. I just got lucky with the instruments lining up and Microsol helped it settle down.
Such a shame that it will lost in the Spits tiny cockpit.
I have not made any progress as I am full of cold at the moment. I just can't concentrate on anything.

Re: OT Does a Weekender *** DNF ***
Apologies guys. I am unable to do any model building at the moment due to ill health.
I aim to get myself better before the next GB in April. Once again sorry and thanks to the GB leaders for organising this.
