Thanks guys. All ideas are for using, here's one for the tailwheel. Instead of trying to paint a nice tyre with a fine brush, paint the part the wheel hub colour, let dry, and then use an extra fine black Sharpie to fill in the tyre
Spitfire is now finished. Gave a final coat of Pledge, unmasked the cockpit and camera window, added pva glue to the belly camera windows, fit undercarriage, exhausts, and propeller, sit back and admire

The box top showed what looks like a whip type aerial so I used a short length of this
Painted the fuselage colour and glued into a small hole I drilled. It's what is used to attach price tags and such to new clothes.
