A small but appreciative crowd gathered for the fuselage closing ceremony. It was very successful :)

Image

Got the prop masked and painted

Image

And then unmasked

Image

Added the wings next. Bit of a fit problem at the front

Image

Applied filler, and a bit at the back edge also

Image

Black Sharpie inside the radiators and then drag a pencil acoss the raised grille detail

Image

Hope to get some paint on soon.

Filled and sanded the areas that needed it

Image

Got the canopy on and masked

Image

Tailplanes on and add the rudder at a cheeky angle, because I can :)

Image

All ready for some paint

Thank you Martin. Here it is now, all masked up ready for the second colour. I've run a brushful of the first colour along all the tape edges. Any paint bleed should then be in the first colour and negate any of the second colour bleeding through. That's the theory anyway :)

The big reveal

Image

Image

Just a couple of small spots on the wings and tailplanes to fix. I was very happy with the fuselage and front of cockpit. Get some gloss on next and start on the decals. Life's good

Started the decalling today. I'll wait for these to dry before adding the red centres to the roundels

Image

That's all the decals there are with this one, no stencils or wing walkways, a very clean airframe.

Before the decals it's coffee and a custard tart

Image

Then the last four decals go on, the red centres to the roundels

Image

Image

Every five minutes I keep checking to make sure they've stayed where I put them :)
When dry I'll give it a wipe with a damp paper towel and then add all the final pieces.

There's nothing worse than having the red centres of roundels 'migrate' when you're not looking. Very annoying!

Love the 'washing' on the undercarriage. Very realistic.
