This is a single-type GB of the Avro Lancaster - any kit, any scale, any variant, any markings. This is the 3rd Lancaster GB on UAMF, not counting a few other GBs where Lancasters or variants have shown up.

This GB started from a thread here.

The GB runs about 6 weeks, from February 28th through April 12th; your GBLs are Lancfan, Sir T, and jRatz as/if needed.

Not much of a secret if they stick a ruddy great picture of the bomb on the box is it! :ha: :-D

I've not seen that boxing before; when does it date to?
Best wishes

All the best.

I don't think my boxing has that on it! It's certainly got that art, though.

Just checking in - I'm still a 'Yes' for this....

I'll be using the 2007 1:72 Dambuster kit by Revell, but retrofitting it back to a standard B Mk.1 - Thanks to some bombs, bay-doors, etc. kindly swapped with Dai (DH-Drover) way back in the spring of 2012 (I can't believe that was 3 years ago... )

Markings will be for LL804 BH*F of 300 sqdn (Polish)
W/C Teofil Pozycka's aircraft with the 'Lady in a Champagne Glass' noseart, which began service in Nov 1943, and survived the war, later being 'struck off' in 1946

I'll begin a build thread nearer the start date.

Hi all, and a warm welcome to the Lancaster GB!

David will fill you all in with the details I'm sure - but as he's a busy GBL this month I'll be helping out as assistant GBL.

I'll be building an Airfix new tool B.II.

Cheers

Stuart

I hope to come in, late probably, with an old moulding Airfix one. I have a special set of 617 sqd markings which this one may get.
I have the old Airfix Dam-Buster one I want to build too, but I got it second hand and a few parts are built. Props to engine fronts and maybe halves of one wing. Thus it has to be excluded from this.

Fred I maybe wrong but I think part-started kits are allowed on this GB.

Still making up my mind what to build; Airfix (Definitely) new tool (possibly) as it's about time I had a treat!
Best wishes

I will be in, two barely started (mostly interior paint) kits, both Airfix new-tool.
The B.II, and the B.III Dambuster done OOB as a regular B.I/III - the parts are there just not the instruction.
These are two kits I started in the Aviation forum back in Nov/Dec of 2013 http://www.uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=8113;.

I have aftermarket decals for both and I haven't made any decisions in that regard.

I will be a few days late starting these, possibly not until Thursday/Friday of the first week ....

I can't take part I this one, more's the pity, but I'm looking forward to watching the great builds I know are going to come out of it.
