Splash's 1:144 Revell build ****finished*****

Post by splash »

I found a Revell 1:144 scale Lancaster in my stash minus its box, so this would be a good time to throw it together and reduce my stash.

Photos to follow.

Cheers.

Looking at the kit and a quick search on the web it looks like Revell re-boxed the Mini Craft kit. The detail is plain with no interior detail, it has a small amount of flash, but not enough to be an issue, so the build shouldn't take too long.

Will keep an eye on this as I wonder if it's the same kit as the one I have?

As you can see the part count is low and progress is quick.

So far I like this kit after a quick rub down it's had a coat of Tamiya primer.

As an aside - what's the Heller Helo kit on your bench? Is it a Gazelle?

Its the box for the Heller 1/50 Puma that's being built, but I do have the Heller 1/50 Gazelle and it will be on the bench soon as part of a 1/48 - 1/50 commission to build a Wessex 5, Westland Scout, Lynx, Puma, Gazelle and Chinook

The fit of the parts is good with only a small amount of filler required on the join between the engins and wing. The raised detail was fine but very over scale so I rubbed it all down before the primer coat.

What a brilliant little model- reminds me of the old Frog 1/96 scale kit.

I must admit the kit is better than I thought and with only a small cleaning up is starting to look quite nice.
