Karl's B.1 conversion **Barely started** :(

Post by carlos »

I'm in with a 2007 Revell Dambuster, which I'll be converting back to a B.I, using parts I swapped with Dai (DHDrover) a couple of yrs back.
No plastic surgery required, just swapping out the relevant parts - The Revell kit comes with a bomb rack, which would otherwise be under the cutaway for the Upkeep mine. The kit even has the top turret and fairing supplied as 'unused parts'.

Boxart:

I'll be using these decals from Techmod.
300 sqn (Polish) - BH*F LL804 - with the 'Lady in a Champagne Glass' noseart
Piloted by Wing Com. Teofil Prozycka

Note the old 617sqn decals - Dai has likely used those by now (these are old pictures)

And the bombs/doors kindly donated by Dai

There's enough for up to 11 x 250 pounders, plus the Cookie.
So I'll probably go with a load of 10 bombs plus Cookie - though I do have another Cookie, and may yet join them together to make a 8,000lb super-cookie.
Currently on bench: ICM 1/72 Tupolev Tu-2
