I've painted the nose cones and masked them off, the undersides have had a light coat of Vallejo silver. I will flat it back and give it another bosh over.. Both should be ready for the grey by the weekend.

Cheers Nigel, I'm enjoying the build. No super detailing , just a crisp clean finish from the box ( I hope)

Both had 2nd coat of Vallejo silver. Spray nicely, first time I've used it. Thinned with Tamiya thinners.

Looks good and Vallejo silver is a very easy to use paint. I've used it successfully quite a lot.

Cannon port sanded and filled on 2 seater after reading Freds thread. Research , research.

They look well.
I wish I'd used that Vallejo paint on the underneath. I used V 883 Silvergrey, which looks ok but is a bit too grey and not enough silver.
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

I've used a Revell silbergrau on my Thunderstreak and has no metallic in at all. I read that the Weiss Aluminium weathered quickly to a flat grey like finish. Bit of a minefield with different sources quoting Ral this and that.
I've just done the second coat of basalt grey on the 2 seater. Will let it harden off before I do the black intakes. Getting the red stripes on the pitot will be fun.
