Marek's piloted missile / missiles? *** FINISHED ***
Hi Guys, soon pictures to follow. One or two (depending on time) F-104 will be built here. Either both Hasegawa's or one Hase and one Esci, we will see soon.

These are the culprits:
They were waiting just for a occasion like this,
one will be probably Canadian, the other one either Luftwaffe or Italian. I am shooting for completion of at least the Canadian one (NMF), we will see if I can pull off both.

Lovely stuff. The F104 is proving to be the most popular here with the 106 being the next.

And the Starfighter is worth 'every penny' we put into these models . It is a beauty. Today I have started, some assemblage and pre-painting has been done. I have to say that these moulds actually get older. The G variant seems to have little flesh while the C variant I am doing not only has a flesh but also there are visible mould scuffings. Otherwise, very much a pleasure to build. I will probably do an NMF canadian version this time around.

Work on CF-104 continues. Cockpit done except for the ejection seat. The fuselage is assembled together, some more cleanup and little putty will be needed. So far much less work than anticipated.

Good progress Marek!
Best wishes

Looks to be a lovely kit, pity they cost so much. Nice work on the pit.

Re: Marek's piloted missile / missiles?
For a while a I had a rule of 10. 10 bucks for kit, so made sense if buying more kits at once. Sometimes, it happened, somebody was unloading on ebay or like in case of these two kits (both f-104) and several others, http://www.greatmodels.com; was going out of business. Sad thing since I really liked them (must say, politically incorrect, much better than spruebrothers.com that bought them). There are certain models I can pay "almost" 5 times as much, but they are not done in Asia in general (sorry, no pun intended toward anyone). The price they want now for them, I would say good-bye.shangos70 wrote:Looks to be a lovely kit, pity they cost so much. Nice work on the pit.

Re: Marek's piloted missile / missiles?
More work done of CF-104 over the weekend and tonight. Ejection cord were added to the seat, HUD-ish plate added and cockpit generally attended to. I have to admit that my dexterity-less approach and general sloppiness (I think) caused me to use some Mr.Surfacer on wings and intakes areas quite heavily. Other than that it is as lovely kit as advertised.

Can't see any sloppiness from here just a nicely progressing widow maker

more photos of the super detailed cockpit please! The Mr.Surfacer should be easily sorted out with some filing.

Re: Marek's piloted missile / missiles?
Well, I had no time to update the photographic journey yet but things are as follows:
F-104 is mostly painted (black panels are left and I may have to retouch some bleeding in places). Now it's gonna be glossed and decaling starts. I should be able to show some work graphically tonight. Work is constantly interrupted by life but it is going. I should be able to finish by deadline.

ps. Blueberryruby - I should be able to do some photos of the cockpit through the glass as the canopy closed by now but quite transparent.
