Brickie's Hun
So, as discussed over in the chat thread, I was idly browsing the second hand section of Hannants when I spotted this and, with the YCNHTMS build a no-go because my planned kit was too started.

Nice. I was going to do this kit but it hid itself.

After much fiddling and swearing, we have a cockpit.
The IP backing is now on, and just a couple of touch-ups on the paint to do.

Re: Brickie's Hun
I think this is a Italeri kit, also found in Tamiya box. A very nice kit. And you are flying with it, Brickie, nice work!

OK, so this is one of those kits that just fits *perfectly*. Apart from a bit of a seam in the cockpit area to clean up, there's really not much to do before priming.
My interior green has gone a bit dark when I gave it a bit of Citadel Devlan Mud for shade, but a drybrush back over with the original shade should sort that out.

Paint-wise, the pics I've seen suggest an aluminium finish overall with a more NMF for the engine section, which has those distinctive "burnt" stripes.

Re: Brickie's Hun
It's the thought of doing the burnt stripe tail section that has always put me off doing this build, but seeing what a fine job you are making of it, it might get moved up my build pile.

Re: Brickie's Hun
Well, here's how I've done with that:
The model is sprayed overall with Tamiya Flat Aluminium, then the jetpipe is done with my first go at Vallejo Model Air: Steel on underneath (no appreciable difference in colour from the Tamiya Flat Alu), then Gun Grey added to the steel for the dark stripes and Rust for the brown ones. I considered a really light mist of alu with a touch of blue, but decided not to push it.
I think it's come out OK, though the masking tape took off some of the dull aluminium coat and will need a bit of a respray. I had applied some Humbrol Metalcote Chrome Silver from a rattlecan before deciding that was just way too shiny and spraying over with Flat Aluminum. But of course, I'd forgotten that having a high-gloss undercoat meant the masking tape would take it right off again...

With a relaxing evening attaching kibbles and bits while watching Hunt for Red October, this is what we've got.
