The first task is to build up a new interior based on pictures of full size Kingfishers, this shows the sidewall details of the pilots cockpit taking shape.

The work continues by building up an accurate decking, here is the incomplete plastic card deck in position.

Nice work David, as always.

That new interior will make a big difference to the old kit.

Does the kit come with any undercarriage, or will you have to scratch build it?

The kit comes with both undercarriage and floats Splash, there is one decal option for each.

Nice interior improvements. Will this be the landplane version then?

coming along very nicely. I agree, the additions in the interior will make a world of difference under this greenhouse.

The finished decking and rear cabin ready for painting and assembly.
Image

The interior painted and ready for the fuselage to be joined up.
Image

The fuselage and the wings have been joined up and the raised lines have been removed, the flaps and ailerons have been separated from the wings ready to be cleaned up and re-fitted later. The reduction gear housing as moulded is more like a flat bottomed pan than a bell housing so I have given it some shape by scraping it to shape with the edge of a knife blade.
Image

The wings and engine have been fitted.
Image

The 'MARINA' and '50' decals are DIY inkjet transfers printed on white decal paper and to keep the paint as thin as possible these will be applied next before applying the primer and top coats in Light Grey, the rudder has also been painted white at this stage.
Image

The areas around the decals have been painted light grey to build up the surface level with the decals.
Image

The decals have been touched in around the figures on the decals and the blue stripes have been applied to the rudder.

I like how you did the decals. Printing in grey so the white letters show up.
