It certainly does. Camm had an eye for a shape that just looked right, didn't he?

Camm certainly did have a good eye for shape and It's one of my favourite a/c, as it was the first type of a/c I ever worked on when I trained as an Aircraft Mechanic in the RN back in 1969.

There was a programme on TV all about the Seahawk not that long ago and the current pilot of the Historic Flights ac said its like flying a modern Hawk trainer, its back to basics with no nasty vices and a real joy to fly.

It would have been nice if the old Frog Scimitar kit was still available, but I understand the kit was actually of the Scimitar prototype and not of a production a/c they also did the same with the DH110 but in that instance they eventually issued the Seavixen.

Tonight I panicked as I could not find the Indian roundals but a quick search found another HoobyBoss Sea Hawk in my stash with the correct decals, so the build is still on.

I also found my old copy of the Sea Hawk WARPAINT No 29 that confirmed the the markings I have are for the small tailed version and not the ex-German a/c.

The basic shape of the old Frog kit looks good, once you take off the raised detail.

I'm experimenting with a new paint from a rattle can, the paint was supposed to be Matt but it has come out with a plesent semi gloss finish.

The cockpit has been painted and the canopy stuck down, as there are no wheel wells and the pilot is sat in it, I think I will do it wheels up on an old frog stand.

Tonight I should be able to add the decals, so I will class this one on long finals to land.

That looks rather smart, doesn't it? What rattlecan is it for the EDSG?

It's a new kid on the block called "Gold" it comes in large cans that work on a low pressure system that cost £7.50 a tin, you can also buy packs of sprey nozzles jets of different sizes, the colour I used was " Gravel"

I hadn't noticed in previous post that you used a rattle can for the grey. Really nice finish. I always get orange peel or runs when I try those things!!!

Its the first time I have used this type of paint and was pleased with the way it went on, the coverage is excellent and because of the low pressure it's easy to put the paint where its needed.

I think the paint is quiet thick hence the good coverage, but this does mean less chance of runs and the paint self levels it's self hence the lack of orange peel. I think it suits old models like the Seahawk that have little surface detail.

My local HobbyCraft store has started stocking it and have it on offer for four tins for £20 as they are big tins I thought that was not bad so I picked up a lighter grey, a Bright dayglow orange and tins of Black and white. My logic is if it works they will make cheap cans of primer 8-)

The white used in this build is Tamiya White primer out of a small rattle can (expensive but very, very good)
