Andrew's Falcon Martin-Baker MB-5 *Finished*

The one you have all been waiting for - Vac(u)-formed kits. Any subject, any kit, so long as the basis of the kit is vac-form (no, you can't enter an injection airplane with a vac-canopy). Started kits are eligible, within reason - this is a learning GB to introduce members the variety of kits, what can be accomplished with them, and to overcome any reluctance to add them to your modeling repertoire.
This is an extended GB, running 4 April to 31 May, and your hosts are Lancfan, SJPONeill, and Splash.

That came up really nicely Andrew. The MB-5 is a long time favourite of mine, you've caught it well imho. How does it compare size wise to a 'stang, its my understanding they were somewhat bigger? I guess if I'd made my I could answer that. ;-)

It's much longer and wider than a Mustang, although wingspan is not so different.

It's still smaller than the P-47C though!

A lot of the fuselage was empty space apparently - it was designed for easy service access by relatively unskilled technicians.

Thanks Andrew, those are great, first time I've seen one displayed like this. It really does put the size into perspective.

That's an interesting comparison in size. It's a shame it came out too late to go in to production.

My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.
