Oooooooh! So close that it would be unfair not to give you a prize! My second favourite air guitar, the Les Paul Classic, is on it's way to you now! :-D
Actually, it was Middlesboroughs finest, Paul Rodgers that I was planning to do, but last night, when I opened the bag from the loft properly, there were TWO Grenadiers in it! Ritchie be praised! :wanw I'm in two other GBs this month, but if there's time I'll do both.

Just out of curiosity: why do you use military figures for conversions that are (or seem) so extensive very little but the rough dimensions of the original figures remains? Wouldn't it be easier to start from so called academy figures?

I just had a bunch of them in the loft, and as I had no other projects on the go, I made up one and converted it to a model of my favourite vocalist, Frankie Miller. Then it just snowballed. The 54mm Grenadier is in a good 'rockstar' pose and it's easy to add filler to the gaiters to make flared or semi flared trousers, so that and the Mini Art Afrika Korps tank crew are the best 'blank canvases' I've found so far.

I was thinking of figures like these:

Historex agents also sells a few others (search for academy).

Or, although rather more expensive than the Historex ones:

Of course, you'll have to do all the clothing and posing yourself, which means that if you typically manage to make use of existing features, it may not be easier after all.

The one that turned out to be two....

Image

First alterations. cutting the frock coat to waist length, cutting off the hat and shaving the buttons off the gaiters (left)
Adding filler to the legs below the knees and pinching into shape to make the trousers more 'groovy', (right)

It's not Glenn Hughes I'm doing, His flares were like a sailing ship in full sail!, P.R. had much more restrained flares (in the video that I'm using as a reference, anyway)
