Thanks chaps, I know that the model looks a bit like something out of 'Carry on screaming', but as you can see from this video, P.R. did have unfeasibly large eyebrows!

Alterations having been done to the clothing, Koss gets painted.
The small silver rectangle is my trusted standby, a part number tab off the sprue. This will get halved to become the pickups. The volume and tone buttons are made from 'Salami slices' of the bayonet. The pickup selector switch (not on yet) will be the very tip of the bayonet. The straightened staple was going to become the tuning keys, but I think I will get some very thin plastic rod, cut to size and then flatten the very ends with a heated screwdriver to make a better tuning key shape.

Thanks Skipper, but even if I did successfully calculate what .009 to .046 of an inch thickness was when scaled down to 1/32, I fear it might take me (even further) down the road to madness trying to make and fit the strings! It'll be scalpel scores to represent the unwound strings and fine pen lines for the wound ones.Sir T wrote:That is really cool - are you going to rig the Guitar?

Looking at the Hannants catalogue for suitable figures for conversion, I spotted the Mini Art Netherlands Musketeer, French Musketeer and French Guard in 1/16 scale. Now in THAT scale I might attempt to string the guitar!
The only problem is that Mini Art are based in The Ukraine, and a certain world leader is Putin' the kybosh on trade from there

You'd have thought that some clever spark at eduard would have thought to do 1/32 PE guitar strings by now - they're missing an oppertunity!Purplethistle wrote:Thanks Skipper, but even if I did successfully calculate what .009 to .046 of an inch thickness was when scaled down to 1/32, I fear it might take me (even further) down the road to madness trying to make and fit the strings! Great job. For the keys, you could heat stretch some sprue. Either way just squish the plastic rod with pliers, preferably toothless ones, much more controllable and less dangerous.Purplethistle wrote:The straightened staple was going to become the tuning keys, but I think I will get some very thin plastic rod, cut to size and then flatten the very ends with a heated screwdriver to make a better tuning key shape.
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Awesome work on the figures. Looking forward to seeing how the guitar turns out.

Dammit! when I was resizing the photo I realised that I haven't put the tuning keys on yet!

Re: Purplethistles 54mm Grenadier....Freestyled**FINISHED**
Technically, this one's done. Usually I do a stage background for this type of thing, but the Top of the pops set was a bit naff, so I thought that I'd get in some practice for the C.D. G.B. The shiny paper background caused some problems with light bouncing into all the wrong places, so maybe it was a bad idea, on reflection. (geddit?)
Will post these to get over the finish line and hopefully get better pics for the Completions page.
