Nope. I suspect scale problems, and besides, that Black Watch, not GordonOld_Tonto wrote:Have you tried this?
(being pedantic for laughs here, but it is true about the tartan)

I really like you out of the box thinking when you get a problem.

All modeling takes place out of the box; it's hard to build a kit inside the box (apologies to Groucho Marx)splash wrote:I really like you out of the box thinking when you get a problem.
Also, not wanting to sound outrageously PC, they're not problems, they're challenges; the main distinction being that if I get fed up with a challenge, I can redirect it to the trashcan. If only problems would go away that easily...
Of course, I'm usually too stubborn to take the trashcan option, but that's another matter

Re: Rob's Waterloo 'dogfight double'
OK, that didn't work. I couldn't get the decal to lie down into the folds without putting some pressure on, and putting pressure on deformed the folds. I'll have to see if I can do the complete folding process with the decal in place, which is a rather scary concept Fresh test piece being prepared right now..rob_van_riel wrote:The next test will be to zig-zag a section of foil to 90 degree angles, decal it in that shape, and then complete the folding and fanning.

It might be an idea to cut the decal into vertical strips for the pleated area at the back if that is where you are having trouble getting the decal to settle, the decals would probably be a lot easier to work with if only having to make one fold or turn. Also, the joins could be hidden deep in the pleats.
