Thanks for the tips Mark - bugger! that means I've got to remove all the flash and assemble the gear before i can get the wings on... Oh well - A Challenge!MarkyM607 wrote:As far as spraying with cans goes, I would do one or two sprays away from the model and the third spray on is on the model, all in quick succession. This prevents any 'muck' in the nozzle from being chucked onto the model.
With the old tool Blenheim undercarriage I don't think you can leave it out, IIRC it's a bugger to fit afterwards, unless you want to leave it off altogether.

The Mossie is a nice build, but IIRC, the undercarriage needs to be fitted before the nacelle halves are together. Even then, it can be a bit - erm - challenging. I hope I'm wrong. The only advice I would now give you is to make sure the undercarriage assemblies are well glued and completely dry before trying to fit them.Sir T wrote:You'll have no issues - It's a nice little kit. I THINK the U/C may be a bit tricky to fit, but we'll see when I get there. The only non-OOB item I added was a plactic-card shelf behind the crew to his the gaping hole.DazDaMan wrote:I'm keenly following your Mossie, as I have one of these to build for the DH GB in a while!

Another annoying note - Asides from it being an awful fit, I've managed to loose one of the Blenheim canopy side panels to the carpet monster! Thankfully hanants has a vac-form replacement designed for this kit so I'll have to order one.
At least I can get on with the gear/wings while I'm waiting...

Nice work so far on the Blenheim, especially the 'pit. I'll be paying extra close attention to the Mossie progress as I'm going to be building one for the De Havilland G.B

Thanks PT - go for it, it's a nice kit!
I'm a bit annoyed at myself on the Mossie - I added the tanks (even though they weren't fitted to the NF variants) as a bit of a fingers up at accuracy but now I regret doing it... So I might do a FB varient instead...

Hey good news! the Carpet monster was obviously disgusted with the quality of the moulding of the clear parts that he's given back my cockpit side panel All I've got to do now it try and fit it

The Airfix Mossie is a nice kit. I notice it's coming along quicker than the Blenheim.

It's coming along - had a hell of a job with the side windows though - so badly moulded I couldn't get them to fit... might have to make so with plastic rod and glue-n-glaze.

The mossie is also coming along - just some masking to do and then ready for paint!
I may do the Silver RAAF scheme you can see in the picture.
I was wondering how to replace the lost rivets on the blenheim - in the end I made some indentations with my pointy scriber - should look ok under paint.

So this is where I leave you with my build - I should be back in a week or so, and if it turns out I have an internet signal I'll pop in and see you all.
Take it easy all
Cheers
Stuart
