Cheers Martin. By all accounts Archie was a dapper chap. I'll have to trim the 'tache a bit at the sides, It's more of a Max Sutherland than an Archie!
Btw, if anyone is planning on doing the new 1/48 Mk1 Spit as the 602 Sqn version, Osgood Hanbury had a black 'Mexican bandit' 'tache that earned him the nickname 'Pedro'

I'm surprised that Eduard or someone have not brought out 'tache decals, they're missing a trick methinks :-D

I've been trying to remember whose thread recently showed how to polish up a scratched transparency, but I can't find it. I'm using the kits front screen and a vacform hood, but some paint leaked through the masking tape onto the front screen. I've removed it now, but the transparency's scratched

When you built yours did you have any issues with the U/C?
I'm finding that the support strut that comes already attached to the oleo leg doesn't stretch long enough to affix to anything in the wheel well, it just ends about 5mm from anything! :???:

I think mine did, too. Think I just ended up attaching it to the front edge of the wheel well. Hey, it works, I guess!

Dry fitting the vacform canopy.....some more slight shaving required. The wee Lion Rampant crest was a conveniently sized decal from an old Airfix Jaguar GR1, the original was a black lion but easily overpainted in red.
