Re: Marky's Kiev (no chicken)
Try putting two sided tape on one of the jaws-if your using cyano glue, you can leave the part where you placed it. If you loosen the jaws by accident, the tape should hold the part from flying off into the void.

Re: Marky's Kiev (no chicken)
One wants to use tiny tweezers with tiny parts, but I have found that to be the cause of flying parts, so I use the largest (widest) tweezer that will do the hold the part and allow me to maneuver it.

Cutting inside a large plastic bag us also good for catching those absconding parts...truth though, I generally tend to remember to do this after said part had taken flight...
Please critique my posts honestly i.e. say what you think so I can learn and improve...

Tweezers work well. Just remember to employ a delicate touch when squeezing.

With my hands delicate touch is something of an acquired skill at the best of times!!.
Have just returned from my Aunt's funeral service so might not get much done today, will do update pics tomorrow if I do any work.

Bit more done on the Kiev, painting mostly. The deck markings are not an exact match for the ones seen on pictures but will go with the kit ones, otherwise it means removing the slightly raised lines and painting or rescribing them. Don't fancy that at the moment.
Have added a second coat of both colours since these pics and am working on the small attachments on the bow of the ship.

Thanks chaps, but don't jinx me Dazzled!! , so far so good but don't want to tempt fate!. It does look really nice now that I have painted the white track lines along the landing area. Needs tidying but so far okay.
The Kiev is more accurately described as an 'Aircraft Carrying Cruiser' rather than an actual Aircraft Carrier but definitely a case of Soviet/Russian 'how much can we pack into one hull' philosophy.
