Tom's E-Boat
Re: Tom's E-Boat
I pretty much add scrap stuff like this in on all ship builds for strength as much as holding it apart.

Re: Tom's E-Boat
Good skills (& a good tip) on getting that hull/deck fit right, something to file away till I can begin mine.

Re: Tom's E-Boat
Just a bit of filler applied this week along the hull joins. I did make the point of masking along the hull demarcation line beforehand as there is a very good chance of obliterating it once I start sanding:

Depending on what you are planning on doing with this regards the paint scheme, I have a book or three on German Naval Camouflage....

Re: Tom's E-Boat
Good save with the sprue spacers. I think I might have to do that with my Saratoga, 20 or so years in a hot loft seems to have had an effect on the hull, more so since I decided to make it as a waterline model and had cut off the bottom before noticing the warpage

Re: Tom's E-Boat
Thanks guys slow and steady seems to be the right approach with ships
Chris I'm probably going to keep things simple and follow Airfix's suggestions as regards the colour scheme. So plain light grey upperworks with a dark grey deck and black hull bottom.
Regards
Tom

Re: Tom's E-Boat
Looking good so far. I've test fitted the flight deck on mine and should be able to get away without using spacers.
