I thought a second very quick build might be amusing, especially as this "No-name" 1/1200 model has only 4 parts! :grin:

Here's the Littoral Combat Ship USS Freedom in a rather smart disruptive camouflage scheme.

Here's the "no frills" packaging. I think these 1/1200 series ships are from a range of collectables available in Japan. All the subjects are modern US or JSDF subjects.

At less than $5 including postage, the price was right! :-D

Here are the 4 parts. Hard plastic, except for the mast, which is a very soft rubbery plastic. No danger of damaging the mast by handling it. Good wargaming potential there.

Nice detail on the mast too. The thing is only 1 cm high, but looks very busy.

To build the model, you slot the two hull pieces together and push the superstructure on. The only visible seams are the vertical ones in the hull. Neat.

So that took about 2 minutes...

Nice detail on the hard plastic too. A wash will bring it out nicely.

Those 'gashapon' models can be quite decent - I have a couple of F-Toy 1/144 Sea Furies and the detail is quite nice.

I am going to repaint it! There is one possible mod on the kit. The nets around the landing pad have been represented as a solid moulding and could be replaced with photoetch

Additionally, you may source a brass gun barrels , they would have around .05mm to accommodate 57mm Bofors at 1/1200.............. :twisted:

The join in the hull has been filled. I also did a sepia wash on the decks, as they seem to have a brownish tinge to them in photos.

I feel a bit of a cheat. Four parts and prepainted... :mrgreen:

It is very nicely moulded compared to the old Airfix 1/1200 waterline kits or the more recent Revell cruise ships in 1/1200.
