This is a single-kit GB of the PM 1/72 Sea Fury - however you want to do it, but no Spitfires and such.
This GB started from a number of threads and voting rounds which I am not going to chase down, but which culminated here.
The GB runs from June 1st to 30th; your GBL is Martin R who will fill in any other info.
<Edit: From Martin R
I've nothing much more to add to John's dit above, except: this is the kit we voted for and it's nice to see the enthusiasm that's already being exhibited in the various build threads. So, I want a good clean GB with no biting or gouging; scratching and whiffing are, however, quite acceptable.
As GBL, I'll try to keep the banter and communications going; if anyone wishes me not to hassle them, drop me a PM to let me know and I'll be happy to oblige. Otherwise, you're fair game.
Have fun!
regards,
Martin /Edit>

Woo hoo! We're up and running.
What are we all doing? OOB or with 'improvements'. Please let us know your intentions for general banter and comments.
As for me, I feel like doing some extra bits with the kit. Initial thoughts? Deepen the wheel bay and add some detail, add a cockpit tub and a vacform canopy, and maybe do something with the exhaust outlets? I also have some Tempest undercarriage bits and bobs that may come in useful.
Probably mine'll be a Korean War machine, although the prototype Fury also appeals.
regards,
Martin

I'll be making the same improvements here that I made to my builds for the 2012 Sea fury GB.

Not sure whether to do a T.20 or an FB.11 yet. Or on the colour scheme. The bright red T.20 has a certain attraction, but I could do an FB.11 in wartime FAA colours...

If it helps, there's a bright red full-sized one coming together in Germany...

Arrgh! Temperate Sea Scheme. Nice!!!! How about with Seafire III markings from the BPF?

Sorry Martin, here is the Build Thread link.Martin R wrote:Go on, David, give us a link!
You will have to go to page two and scroll down past the Academy kit to reach the PM builds.

Thanks, David. That thread should be a pretty good reference for those who wish to do some mods to the kit.lancfan wrote:Sorry Martin, here is the Build Thread link.Martin R wrote:Go on, David, give us a link!

I actually remember this build marathon now I've reread the thread. Don't know whether it was your example that made me want to modify the wheelwells, but I'm going to have a go anyway!

Martin

I think the temperate sea scheme, with white recognition stripes on the wings and a white tailband.Martin R wrote:AndrewR wrote:Not sure whether to do a T.20 or an FB.11 yet. Or on the colour scheme. The bright red T.20 has a certain attraction, but I could do an FB.11 in wartime FAA colours...

Re: Sign-up and Chat
Sorry guys I did intend to join in with this GB as I have several of the kits and I do enjoy building Naval a/c but my work bench is full, if I find any spare time I might join in later if that's OK.
