Cheers, Toby.

There's something really nice about the "basic" Sea Fury scheme.

I'll do all the sub-assemblies next before putting on the decals. The Airfix decals do, however, have the Korean stripes as part of the kit, with the integral roundels. This could be interesting...!

Daz,

Very smart paintwork. Any updates on the decals . . . ?

Not yet - just doing subassemblies and making a start on the T.20. I'll get them on tomorrow, hopefully. Providing I'm not strangled by a python....!

It's not. It's Arnie.

He has a little brother - Trouser.

OK, so I've fitted together the main parts of the undercarriage, and the Sea Fury is now sitting on its wheels for the first time. A couple of wee fiddly bits to glue on - plus the prop - before all building is complete.

Pics later.

The FB.11 before the decals started going on...

And after I started putting them on...

The decals are fun. NOT! They'll need trimming and tidying up once they're fixed in place, but hopefully not much.

Looking good. Are you using the PM decals? If so, how are they to apply?

No, someone said to me to scrap those (they were badly out of register for a start) so I bought a set of the Airfix version.

If I'd known how the stripe decals were going to go down, I would have hand-painted them instead!

Dear Lord, these decals are putting up one hell of a fight!

I'll have to paint some of the stripes on - the decals have broken up, no matter how gently or firmly I applied them.

I've ended up scraping off the fuselage stripes as they were bubbling up like crazy. Hand-painting stripes from now on!!

Still working on those stripes....

The fuselage stripes have been completely repainted, rather than use any more decals!

It's a bit difficult to tell from this angle, Daz, but the fuse stripes look like they've come up well. The wing stripes, too are on the way.
