Daz's T.20 - **JUST FINISHED!!**

Post by DazDaMan »

My second build will be one of these:

As I have no experience of PM decals, I have the Airfix sheet for the FB.11 as a back-up if necessary. The sheet comes with an alternative set which are adaptable for a T.20.

Made a wee start on this one by painting the interior gubbins last night, plus the wheels and prop.

The Airfix decal sheet for the FB.11 gives an option which could, in theory, give me a scheme like this:

I might do a bit of whiffery here, since I don't have the exact decals for a particular T.20.

Either that, or go for broke and use the PM decals?

Or see if the spares box has a set of Spit decals which could serve just as well...?

T.20 progress...

I don't like the fact that, despite following the instructions, the cockpit bulkhead and headrest is now a good bit lower than what it should be!

Shame, Daz. How about shaping a bit of styrene to sit on top of the current bulkhead and extend it a little?

I could try that - depending on how the canopy fits, of course.

I had a look at the decals on this one, and the red centres for the roundels are separate, which means I shouldn't have any register issues should I use them. So this model will go as the box art example.

Fingers crossed, anyway!

Made a start to the decals last night.

Note to self: PM decals are CRAP!!!!!

The roundels have NO white in them!!!

Luckily I had bought a set of FB.11 decals for use on my first build, so the roundels got pinched off of that. Apart from one ripping good and proper (but luckily it was salvageable), they went on OK. Just need to put the codes and serials on now.

The photos make the wing stripes look better than what they are - they're a bit wonky and thin, but I'll re-do them later.
