Re: Andrew's Olympic Fury
I do have a T.20 somewhere about, but I can't find it in the chaos stash cupboard.

Sky undersides, with masking for the white ID bands.
I will also be using the ferry tanks supplied with the kit, reasoning that an OTU might want extended range.

And tonight, Dark Slate Grey, or in Vallejo-speak, Panzer Olive Green (1943).
I also found the T.20 kit.
It's got to be a red German example...

Probably Ferrari Red, over Panzergrau primer to make it quite dark.PaulBradley wrote:Nice. what red is that, in Vallejo-speak...?

A good start so far. I see you had to resort to plasticard. Are there any top class 1/72 kits available of the Sea Fury?

Yes, Toby - a superb resin Kit by Aki, and a very nice IM kit by Special Hobby.

Silly putty masking
Then the grey bits sprayed. I used Vallejo Air Dark Sea Grey for this.
Looks okay. Will the masking of the white bits work? Tune in later to find out!

And the Xtradecals are behaving much better today. Must be the humidity or something.
I also spent some time cutting out new undercarriage doors from thin plastic card, to replace the rather thick armoured ones supplied. I've done two complete sets, as I've started a T.20 too

I've push-fitted the tanks and prop into place. The prop needed a little carving at the base of the blades to get the spinner to fit. Must check that I got the prop the right way round
