Toby's Dragon Rapide. FINISHED
Just got the kit out to make sure it's all there and it does seem to be but I'm a bit concerned about the decals. They seem to have yellowed very slightly. I do have some spare decals for another version of the Rapide but not the 89.

Re: Heller DH89 Dragon Rapide
Nice choice, Toby. Put the decals in a window for a week or so - that should bleach the yellow out.

Just read Z28 thread on decals so I've invested in a UV nail polish dryer. No doubt the sun will come out nowPaulBradley wrote:...of course - the British summer......

Great choice Toby. I built one of these a few years ago. It's a peach of a kit.

Re: Toby's Dragon Rapide
Great to see a Rapide in this GB. Such a beautiful looking kite. I'll be building this kit shortly into a replica of a friend's aircraft (currently in flying trim - http://www.themissions1937.com.au/the-a ... ide-vhutv/;) so I'll be following the build with added interest.
So how do you plan to do the rigging?

The holes are already drilled and there's a diagram on how to rig it so I'm hoping it'll go fairly smoothlyVickersVandal wrote:Great to see a Rapide in this GB. Such a beautiful looking kite. Re: Toby's Dragon Rapide
Before using UV light to get rid of the yellowing.
After!!
Rather pleased with the outcome but will give it some more treatment before applying some Decalfix to finally restore them.
Cabin floor started. Will paint aluminium and then add some red for the seat covers.

Re: Toby's Dragon Rapide
Result! Having so many classic kits with old decals, I may have to invest in one of those little machines....
