Good reason to build the classics again. The first time was in 1995 ..

It's not really a 707-320. I see the box art refers to it as a 121 - which is probably more correct. It is not really any definable 707 variant at all. WAY back in 1974 I built it as an Aer Lingus 707 as FROG used to do it with those markings. It wasn't really accurate for that either.

It is difficult to determine what kind of a model. I found the information here: http://www.airlinercafe.com/page.php?id=72;
If we compare the wing, this is 707-320, on the packaging NOVO, listed as 707-321 and on decal from EE also printed 707-321... (http://www.novokits.ru/index.php/kits/1 ... boeing-707;)

And "FROG Model Aircraft" book about this kit:

Photo real aircraft also provides more questions than answers:

with ventral fin

and without this detail

Obviously, I'll build OOB

Good choice of model, Oleg. The fit of that canopy looks a challenge!!!

TobyC this strange, nothing from this: Comet-4, Concorde, Britannia, Bae-146.. any Airbus, Boeing ..
And today I made cockpit masks. Print result on self-adhesive paper, and then I ventured to print (Old laser b/w HP1010) result on top of Travers decal. Perhaps need apply varnish over print.

Real 707s varied hugely in many areas -

ventral fin (or lack of)
tall or short tail fins
wing shape - especially inner wing
flap arrangements
fuselage length
turbojet/turbofan
small intakes on top of engine cowlings

As far as I can see, no model manufacturers have ever got it right but some are better than others.

Works was more than I think before. I prescribed some panel lines and did thin edge of wings.
Wheels was replaced from spare parts. (1/100 Tu-134 and 1/72 Su-27)

Now occur paint work.

I use metallic paint for corroguard imitation, but NOVO recommended use light grey, how for BOAC 707-400

Things are no better, but I'll overcome problems. And some Eastern Express decals have wrong size.

Making a fine job of a rather iffy model.
