40 minutes down.

The upper and lower chassis are ready for some priming...and I'm ready for another beer.

I can also work on cleaning up the wheels and other fixtures to get them ready for paint.

The chassis is primed. Just a little clean up needed. The rest of the parts are primed and drying, so I'll paint the seats before we move on to main color.

...and, it's time for another beer!

A classic kit and sounds. I am away to my bed now so good luck with the rest of your build.

Thanks for the compliments, gents. I agree this one is moving along quickly. Just over 2 hours into the build and here's where it stands.

At this rate, I may have to start another one!

Alright. Here's where is sits, as I head off to get some sleep.
Image

I repainted the wheels, and while they dried, I figured I play a couple games of World of Tanks.

Famous last words. Still this one is moving along really quickly. Just need to add the headlights, pioneering equipment, the top (folded down), decals, and touch up some of the weathering. After a few hours of much needed sleep, I'll be back at it later today.

I guess there really is no rest of the wicked...

...well, maybe not wicked, just easily distracted by video games and beer.

I woke up this morning and worked on a few of the remaining details to get the VW ready for decals and finishing.

Followed by a small breakfast...

...which left me less than satisfied (have to fix that with lunch...or second breakfast). :-D

Here's where the Kubelwagen sits as of about 20 minutes ago. Just letting the Micro Sol do it's job, and dry, then a little more clean up, some light weathering, and we can call this one complete.

Here's a little more for you!

And another classic from a German TV show...if I was the drummer, I would have told the audience to quit clapping, they have to be driving him nuts, especially since they are ALL off beat and too fast.

Brillient work, did the kit come with any figures?
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Great job! Anytime I try to build vehicles I end up with glue everywhere and wonky wheels. You've just breezed through it. Kudos.

It's finished!

Image

After a QUICK 18 hours on the clock, maybe 5 hours working on the model, the Tamiya Type 82 Kubelwagen is complete. A really nice kit to build, even after sitting in a box for 40 years.

Image

Image

The weather here, is supposed to be HOT today...about 103 degrees (39 C). So maybe I should break out another kit...and try my hand at one more Blitz.

Maybe just a Quick One...

Like most of these Tamiya kits, it did come with figures. This one had 3 non-Afrika Korps soldiers, an officer and two underlings. I probably have Afrika Korps figures in the stash, but my figure preparation and painting would take too long.
