:ha: Yes John, if I don't get home before 7pm you may never hear from me again!

Morning time in the Blitz House. About 7:30pm when I took these.
I believe some small furry creature slept in my mouth so coffee is first order of the day.

Cosmic is already at it:

That is looking rather nice. The Spitfire primer coat is dry but reveals a few issues. Most obvious being the seam line down the middle of the engine cowl.

Image

A few minutes sanding later and it looks good enough to start painting. My subject choice has a yellow nose band so a coat of white was laid down first:

It may get another white coat before the yellow. Then masked off before the main camo goes on.

Apologies for not including the time piece. Will try to remember that next time.

Just time for a quick update whilst the chaps make breakfast. I popped home to get some prop blurs and surprise No.1 child & wife at park run (worth money in the bank that one ).

Before I left I sprayed the Spitfire with a rattle can of Tamiya dark green.

Image

The Dinah is also green and the canopy is looking nice. All free hand (not necessarily a steady one though!).

Sorry forgot the clock again!

Second coat of brown is drying on the Spitfire & the Dinah is getting decals. 8-)

I am pretty impressed with that old Airfix kit. The overall fit looks good.

 No beer yet although we are snacking already

My plan for the painted canopy has not worked too well. For a start it is not the correct green but worse than that the fit is not the best.

But in the interest of completing this blitz I have whacked it on.

Image

I have applied a coat of Klear in preparation for the decals.

The Dinah is pretty much done and is now weathered.

Watching season 3 of Banshee this morning. More to follow.

Good progress. The Dinah, the Spit, the scrambled eggs – all looking very tasty.

Thanks Mike, nice to have you aboard.

Well the Dinah is finished so it must be time for a power-nap.

That man could sleep on a washing line!

Decals are the Spit am just waiting for them to settle down before sealing them.

So just need to attach the prop & get it on the stand. Also a matt coat.

Yes they are decals that came with the kit & agreed, the Dinah looks really sleek in flight.

Got the prop on the spit.

Very, very cool. Those props look great, are they from James's files?
