Stuart's Flogger (Mig-27D)

Post by Stuart »

Greetings Comrades,

Sorry no pictures yet as the postie is yet to give me my kit (darn him - he'll be sent to the gulag) but this'll be my build thread!

I'll be building the 1/72 Hasegawa Mig-27D, for no other reasons than Swing-wing aircraft look awesome. Apprantly this kit isn't very accurate having been tooled before the iron curtain came down - but as I have no idea what the aircraft is supposed to look like it'll be OOB. Not sure of the markings yet as I don't know the condition of the kit decals but I intend to build a pukka USSR aircraft in their rather natty Tri-colour camo.

Now I know knowt about Russian aircraft (asides from being cool!) so I may have to ask a few stupid questions along the way - I'll certainly need help chosing the correct (or correctish) paints.

Looking forward to the GB!

Cheers

Stuartski

Sounds good Stu. I like swing-wing types too, maybe we could have a swingers group build some time?

I have plenty of spare decals if you need them.

I don't think this thread is going the way you intended Stu

Great choice of kit BTW. Criticisms over Hasegawa's -27 are, IMHO, quite unfounded. It's a cracker of a kit that goes together very well and looks every inch a Flogger when completed. I've got a couple of them myself :)

How about this one: http://img.wp.scn.ru/camms/ar/686/pics/18_1.jpg

I might have some Ukrainian decals going spare if you need them.
