That's a lot of filler.

Finally with all the filling done, the MiG went through the paint shop. The silver is shiner than I would like because my local hobby shop is out of dull aluminum. Apparently, this shop has a policy of not restocking any paint colors until just about all the colors are sold out. So I won't be getting any more dull aluminum or matt black there until someone buys the rest of the metallic purple.

I forgot to take a picture of the nose weight that it needed to not tail sit. It needed a lot. I cemented three hex nuts, each almost the diameter of the fuselage, to the back of the intake splitter. The model is so heavy that it feels like a metal die-cast when I pick it up.

I suppose it is time to say something nice about this kit, and that is that the flat thin parts, like the landing gear doors, really are nice and thin. They don't need replacing with .010 sheet plastic items the way many kids do.

Should finish this bird up this weekend.

Final touches, picked out a few panels with silver Sharpie, and we're done. I expected the decals to be as bad as the rest of the kit, but actually they were very good; well printed and well behaved. I will try to find a use for the Pakistan and Iraq options some day.

Thank you gents.

I'm a bit embarrassed that I didn't notice until reviewing this thread that that starboard fuselage decal got wrinkled and crooked at some point after application. Fixed that this morning!

That is a splendid result! August, you actually surpassed anything I have seen done with Plastyk models
