Looking great Stuart Whose resin bits are those? Wouldn't mind doing a few more Korean aircraft myself and the Panther is a lovely shape.

Re: Stuart's Pair of Panthers (Grumman F9F)
Hi Tom - the resin bits are by 'scale resin' - I got them from Hannants.
Not much progress to report - sanded down the filler but had to take so much off that I ended up removing all the panels lines as that would be easier than replacing all that was removed.
The nose is on it's third round of filler - as it's fallen out twice! Annoyingly I've damaged the guns so will have to drill them out and replace them... any suggestions?

That seems like an awful lot of resin and reshaping for an aftermarket part, the mismatch of fit and contour is pretty obvious, was it made for this kit or another ?

Hi John - yep it was made for the Hasegawa kit - I thought it was worth a go though - you live and learn!jRatz wrote:That seems like an awful lot of resin and reshaping for an aftermarket part, the mismatch of fit and contour is pretty obvious, was it made for this kit or another ?

Re: Stuart's Pair of Panthers (Grumman F9F)
Not much progress to report, still in the sand/fill stage, though I've not had a huge amount of bench time this week - here it is next to my Tiger - its interesting to see how aircraft developed over the space of a few years.
I've also drilled out new holes for the cannon, and just need to figure out how to replace them.
Cheers

Progressing nicely.. I like the Tiger is it the Hasegawa one??
On the cannon replacement.. I'd suggest some small diameter Alloy tube would that work if CA'd into the resin nose..
Cheers

Thanks GF - yes it's the Hasegawa kit, and a very nice one it is too.
Thanks for the tip - I think I may go along that route!

Ooh. Haven't seen this thread for some reason. Nice work Stu. Next time can you give me a heads up so I can buy shares in a filler company
