Well I did have a few girlfriends by that name so seemed fitting that I actually make one.
This will be the 1/72 7AD3-600 Fujimi Nakajima B6N1 Tenzan 'Jill' - Carrier Attack Bomber.

That's an excellent choice. The "Heavenly Mountain", which seems an odd thing to call something that flies..
Is this your sanderling?.

Here are the sprue shots and I'm currently deyellowing the decals hence them being attached to a piece of plasticard.

I'm now off to RAF Cosford and the Midlands Air Museum then back to Warwick with some mates for ale and curry.

Cockpit detail is fairly sparse. I've added s/b and some colour but nothing else

Yep, lots of space in those Japanese cockpits. ;-)

Good start mate. I really like the lesser known Japanese WWII types so I'm looking forward to seeing this one develop.

They strapped 6 years old pilots into them, thus the space :). It is a crawling cockpit.

Never glue wings when tired. Complete blast up. Just hope I can prize the surfaces apart if not I'm going to have to scrap the build. :frown:

 sorry to hear that, Toby. Keep us informed as to the corrective surgery, please.

Martin, I have managed to save it. Fortunately the glue hadn't completely hardened and I was able to reset the top and bottom surfaces without too much damage.

Glad you managed to save the wings, not much of an aircraft without them!

I have one of these to build, and after having taken ages to mask the compound curves of the P51 canopy, suddenly all those straight lines don't seem quite so bad ;-)

I hope the rest of the build progresses smoothly.

Regards,

Steve
