Re: Kit's Firebrand
High end resin does not imply high end finish so get your expectations down

That rudder is like a large sail ....

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

Re: Kit's Firebrand
Out of the bags and ready to start
Decals, etch and canopy
U/c in black resin (apparently stronger) and clear resin wingtip lights
Various detail parts including a myriad of rockets, two types of centreline rack and some very nice wheels
More weaponry, cockpit, flaps, tail plane, cowl and prop (many of the fan blades are gone as they are extremely fine, lot of scratching here )
Fuselage and wings, nice interior detail
Biting off more than I can chew? Quite possibly
and yes J, just love that rudder

Re: Kit's Firebrand
Looks like a very nice kit. It might tempt me into a resin foray.

If you think this one is nice you should see their Buccaneers. Working slowly on the cockpit at the moment due to a bad case of man-flu (why do women never understand the seriousness of this disease? )

They are just not equipped (hopefully) to understand that it's not the coughing fit that is debilitating, it's the 'Klacker Effect' (anyone not at school in the '70s, just Google 'Klackers'!) that goes with it if you're wearing loose fitting boxers.Kitaholic wrote:Working slowly on the cockpit at the moment due to a bad case of man-flu (why do women never understand the seriousness of this disease? )
....Even worse if you are sitting at the time, and whilst you're borne aloft by the force of a sneeze, there is a certain anatomical 'settling of contents', and upon the heavy landing you 'Spacehopper' yourself

Re: Kit's Firebrand
Now that the Klackers and Spacehoppers have eased (cheers PT) some pics
after washing and priming just to show the level of surface detail that I am bound to sand off ( dark area on fuselage to be removed to fit wings )
Dark base on the cockpit before starting
painting and detailing started on cockpit (thought the cockpit would be black but it seems the early aircraft had green interiors, although I have found no confirmation of that)
Thanks for looking

Last time I saw a bird with a tail like that, I was going out with her!
Seriously, though, I don't think I've ever seen one of these modeled, so I'm looking forward to seeing it!
