Re: Kit's Firebrand
Bit more work done
Main fuselage together now. Surprised at how well the resin parts went together. An almost flawless seam on the upper surface that just required a small amount of sanding and a tiny bit of filler at the fin root and just behind the cockpit.
The underside, on the other hand was a very different story, still not a bad fit for a resin kit.
and a Firebrand suddenly begins to take shape
Thanks for looking

Re: Kit's Firebrand
Definitely something about this ugly brute that makes it attractive
Still not ready for the paint shop yet but slowly getting there
Certainly pushing me to the limits but at least the fit is good

Good work so far. That's some serious flap action going on there.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Re: Kit's Firebrand
Thanks. Yep, some of the most serious flaps I've seen on a single seater

Re: Kit's Firebrand
That looks like a very nicely detailed kit. You've done it proud so far.

Re: Kit's Firebrand
Pushing hard this week for the finish, hopefully
Replaced the kit gun barrels with brass ones, not because the kit parts were poor. On the contrary they are a very nice casting but being resin I couldn't see the barrel tips surviving my not-so-gentle handling
Paint now being thrown at it

Re: Kit's Firebrand
Started putting the decals on now, CMR decals are some of the best I have used so far
As you can see one of the flaps has been knocked off, errrr for the umpteenth time If I ever do another one , flaps will go on last. Hindsight is wonderful
