Paul's Miniwings Sea Fury *** DNF ***

Post by PaulBradley »

Something nice and relatively simple for this GB - the Miniwings 1/144 Sea Fury, which is the only kit of the type in this scale. An all resin kit, there are few parts, but they are finely moulded and feature recessed panel lines. Not a lot of interior detail - but then you'd really not see much inside anyway - and only one decal option, but there is a spare vacform canopy.

Unfortunately, it seems I've already lost one of the prop blades, so I'll need to fashion a replacement.

It's not missing, it's been removed for servicing! :)

Looks a nice kit Paul!

Nice looking little kit Paul. If I had a prop blade missing I'd just do a prop blur and find a 1/144 pilot, but in your case it would seem a shame not to use the nice resin wheels and u/c (which would then naturally lead me to be thinking prop blur + just taking off/landing mounted over a nice little base...).
Cheers
Al.

Onwards....

Small and fiddly, I have got the basic airframe done. I am thinking of having the outer wings posed folded and I shall construct some basic wingfold detail to go with it.

Looks a sweet little model, Paul.

If you leave the wings unfolded, are they just a butt joint to attach them?

Technically, yes, but they aren't quite the same chord as the stub wings.....which really makes up my mind for me!

Paul, I have a photo of the wing fold details and u/c well details. I would need to post them though.

Sorry, Martin - there's no way I'll be able to finish this for the GB.

I overcommitted - again - and with all the other stuff going on at the moment, I haven't had much chance to work on it. It will get finished at some point in the near future but not within the timeframe of this GB, I'm afraid.....

..or rather, struggling to recover on the boat! :ha:

I'll keep an eye out for this one, it's a little corker.
