Cheers John, Toby, GF, Stuart. The story so far, I have not got as far as I had hoped today and will not get started on my MiG-21 or my Fiat BR20 today but the end of this build is certainly near.
The model has now been primed ready for the main coat.

The blue main coat came next.
Image

The Suez stripe decals were then applied and were found to be slightly too short.
Image
Image

These were then painted in to complete them before applying the rest of the decals.
Image

The decals are now down, final assembly and weathering are all that remain to complete the model.

I was just thinking the same thing, brilliant save. Were the stripes perhaps intended to be placed a bit further aft and outboard? Anyway the plane is looking beautiful. That is a great looking color scheme on the Corsair.

I positioned the stripes just outboard of the outer guns according to the painting instructions so I would say not August.

Seriously nice work there, and a good save with the decals. As to the reason for the short decals, being a French plane, maybe the stripe painters went on strike! :ha:

A surviving aircraft in this colour scheme has the wing stripes and roundels further outboard so maybe Italeri got the C/S drawings wrong.

Finished at last, although the surface detail is very good the parts fit is not good enough and the wall thickness of the main components is quite thin. real life has intruded a lot lately and I picked this from the stash to be an easy build- it turned to be quite troublesome but the finished result isn't too bad.

Excellent. The colours and markings make it come alive.
